Vacation!

I'm officially on 'vacation'! 20 years was a pretty good run, and I really have no regrets about anything. Working in the photofinishing business was something I enjoyed for a long time and even though it's over I really only feel glad about having all of the experiences I had. I'm sure something else will turn up soon. Hopefully something not so vulnerable to being replaced by changes in technology! ;) I've got about 22 weeks of paid severence, so I suppose I can spare a couple of weeks for pure unadulterated leisure activity.

Job update: The clock is working wonderfully, playing Ave Maria every hour on the hour. In other news, after twenty years I've been downsized. This was not unexpected, but still no picnic. I've worked at a photolab since I was 17 and I'm not sure what is next, but you have to love the irony of the timing. God, you have a weird sense of humor.

I received my 20th anniversary gift from work today. I have to say, this is the nicest thing I've ever gotten from work. Its a Howard Miller Grandmother clock. There were many things to choose from, but I have to admit, the criteria I used were based primarily on A) what my wife wanted and B) The resale value of the item on Ebay.

Project Management yielded an 'A' as well. The first quarter is a resounding success.
